Take Me Back
Editorial Reviews
<"b000000n6y5228"> From Grove Press Guide to Blues on CD
This mid-1980s session tries lamely to evoke the plainspoken Chicago sound characteristic of Cotton's very first band twenty years earlier. Despite its gruff warmth, Cotton's voice is barely satisfactory in simple arrangements of material from Guitar Slim, Jimmy Reed, Little Walter, and Howlin' Wolf. His harp is seldom heard. Better his small ensemble weren't at all. -- © Frank John Hadley 1993 --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.
