Love Is Good

Classy Christine Andreas fills her first solo album with pop standards such as "Fly Me to the Moon," "Song of Bernadette," and "And So It Goes," tastefully delivered in front of a full orchestra conducted by Harold Wheeler (who also provided the orchestrations) and produced and arranged by Martin Silvestri. Sharing a couple of duets is Joel Higgins, who also penned one of the numbers, "Harry's Dreams." Only twice does Andreas show her Broadway roots, in a South Pacific counterpoint duet with Higgins and, of course, the lilting "Storybook" from her starring role in The Scarlet Pimpernel (sung, as is the title tune, partly in French). No lyrics are included, but you do get a foldout version of Andreas's sepia-toned cover portrait, which is a good thing. --David Horiuchi --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.
