OK, this disc is not the most important Louis Prima album ever, it's not even one of the top five, but, considering the dearth of Prima material available on CD (Bear Family's pricey boxed archive and Capitol's compilation are notable exceptions), this reissue of Louis Prima's Let's Fly with Mary Poppins is a sight for sore ears. Originally released on Buena Vista Records in 1965, Let's Fly features Prima and wife Gia Maione performing Italian versions of "Supercalifragilistic..." and "Stay Awake," in addition to one of the better versions of "Chim Chim Cheree" ever done. As a side note, "Chim Chim Cheree" was apparently used as Prima's audition tape for his casting into The Jungle Book. Prima completists should grab this one; for everyone else, Capitol's Prima compilation is a much better primer. --Jason Verlinde
