<"b00004yrwd2999"> About the Artist
Destined to always be a favorite for all ages. Frank Sinatra came out of the swing era and made a strong impression with the orchestras of Harry James and Tommy Dorsey. By the time Sinatra went solo in 1943 he was already the 'bobby-soxers' favorite and the most popular singer in America (even surpassing the world's top crooner, Bing Crosby). After a life filled with recordings, concerts, movies and television appearances, he is a household name. His image was that of a tough guy with a vulnerable heart. He was not afraid to sing about his feelings or to reveal a sentimental side. As a perfomer who did what he liked regardless of what others thought, he gave the impression of complete music honesty.

Arguably the most influential American singer of all time, Frank Sinatra's image was of a tough guy with a vulnerable heart who was not afraid to express how he felt in his music. These ten Christmas recordings (dating from 1945-50) find the young Sinatra at turns sounding nostalgic, thoughtful, tender, spiritual and joyful. Most of the tunes are familiar but Sinatra's renditions are quite fresh and timeless, letting listeners hear one of the finest vocalists make each song his own.
