The image of Frank Sinatra, microphone in hand, blue eyes a-twinkle, is one that will endure for generations. So will the sound of his voice, vamping through elegantly jazzy arrangements like those that mark the best tracks on this well-paced holiday collection. The Chairman was always at his best on songs that let him swing a little, and despite the seasonal tenor that dominates, there are quite a few of those here: "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm" and "Boys and Girls like You & Me" break up the otherwise traditional array of carols. Even the well-worn melodies among those, such as his faithful "O Little Town of Bethlehem/Joy to the World/White Christmas" medley, exude a homey feel that easily puts one in a holiday mood. --David Sprague --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
