Album Description
Brahms’ complete works for violin and piano - all 3 sonatas plus the youthful and energetic Sonatensatz - performed by violinist Eric Rosenblith and pianist Heng-Jin Park Ellsworth. Eric Rosenblith is a former student of Jacques Thibaud, Carl Flesch and Bronislaw Huberman, and has concertized extensively as a soloist in the US, Canada, Europe, Israel and Asia. He has been on the faculty of the New England Conservatory since 1968, and served as chairman of the NEC String Department for more than twenty-five years. Heng-Jin Park Ellsworth, born in Korea and raised in the Boston area, studied at the New England Conservatory with Leonard Shure and Russell Sherman. She made her debut with the Boston Pops Orchestra in Boston’s Symphony Hall at age 15, and has performed as soloist with numerous orchestras in the US and Europe. This CD is the first recorded collaboration by these superb musicians, and offers a depth of music-making rarely heard. The CD also includes a 4-p! age interview by the artists, with photos.
