As a coupling, this disc is unique, and since both performances are among the finest available, Otmar Suitner's Dvorák can be recommended without hesitation. The Seventh gets an especially dramatic reading, with very telling contributions from the orchestra's enthusiastic trombone section. What also sets these performances apart is the quality of the recorded sound: it has a luminous, pure quality that suits the music perfectly. Don't let the relative unfamiliarity of the performers or the label dissuade you. This is music-making of immense distinction. --David Hurwitz
