Album Description
Russian Romantics is a solo piano album focusing on works from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Works include such familiar pieces as the dazzling transcriptions of "Flight of the Bumblebee," and "The Waltz of the Flowers" from "The Nutcracker." Also included are four rarely performed masterpieces by Nicolai Medtner, and the virtuoso "Islamey, Oriental Fantasy" by Balakirev, once called "the most difficult piano piece ever written!"
