The extraordinarily gifted Russian pianist Nikolai Lugansky was born in 1972. He was a pupil of the legendary Tatiana Nikolayeva, and is one of the most striking talents in the younger generation of pianist in Russia today. In July 1994 he won the prestigious Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. Since then, he has given numerous recitals and concerts all over the world, and made numerous acclaimed recordings.
