Here's something unusual today, an old-fashioned recital program that a pianist might actually present in a concert hall. A whole CD of Haydn Sonatas makes them easy to find, but a disc like this is better to listen to all the way through. Katin has selected only music he has special sympathy with. From the clarity and virtuosity of the Bach through the color of the Debussy, all of these performances meet the needs of the music with great success.
