Album Description
This presentation of Mozart's Mass in C Major was sung during the liturgy of the Feast of St. John the Baptist, June 25, 2000 at The Episcopal Parish of St. John the Baptist in Portland, Oregon. Recorded live by well known recording engineer, Rod Evenson, these tracks feature a warm, natural sound. Because this Mass was sung during the liturgy as it would have been in Mozart's time, it is performed with great urgency and sincerity. The final two tracks are the opening and closing hymns for the day. The sense of movement during the procession and recession is reflected by the microphone placement which captures the proximity of the choir within the church.
