Editorial Reviews
New York Concert Review 1997
"...a muscular yet flexible relation ship with the keyboard that left space to find the poetry in the details."
Album Description
The piano compositions of Theodor Leschetizky (1830-1915) are an important link to a teaching and performing legacy that left an indelible mark on modern pianism. Leschetizky wrote over eighty works for solo piano, as well as several sets of lieder, two operas and a piano concerto, but he is first remembered as a great teacher. His impressive roster of students included such famous nineteenth century pianists as the great Paderewski, Schnabel, Esipoff (his second wife), Moiseivitch and Horsovski.
