Editorial Reviews
From the Artist
Dierks Bentley started as just another guitar player on the Nashville Circuit but in the last eight years has risen up the ranks to become one of the most hotly tipped young country stars around today. Hearing Hank Williams Jr as music obsessed teenager, Dierks realized that there was another form of music that resonated far deeper than heavy rock. He began writing songs and inevitably headed Nashville way and eventually, the legendary Station Inn where he learnt traditional music from the masters. Rather than chasing record companies he eventually recorded an album under his own steam and then let them come to him, which they did and the rest is history.
Album Description
CMH present, Pickin On Dierks Bentley, A Bluegrass Tribute to this rising star who has blended traditional American music with modern country to produce a unique sound of his own. Blazing banjos, dobro, guitar, mandolin & fiddle combine to transform a selection of his best songs taken from his two major label albums. Hits such as What Was I Thinkin & Lot of Leavin Left To Do, are given a traditional bluegrass overhaul with remarkable results. Dierks devotion to the craft of country music is well known and his songs certainly stand the test of these instrumental work outs.
