About the Artist
Hillary Kay has inspired her audiences in concert halls, clubs, marches, rallies and festivals throughout the United States and abroad. Hillary has performed nationally for 20 years, opening for such greats as Ani Difranco, Taj Majal, and Judy Mowatt. Hillary has performed on Canadian Artist Lucy Blue Tremblay's 1997 live recorded CD "I'm Ready", as well as performed with Sophie B. Hawkins. In addition, Hillary recorded, performed and toured nationally with Ubaka Hill for five years as a Shapeshifter. As a soloist, Hillary draws from the ten years she spent working in the legendary clubs in New York's Greenwich Village as a singer-songwriter, as well as her years playing guitar in various reggae bands in Brooklyn. Hillary's music is gutsy, tough, honest and full of joy.
