Editorial Reviews
Album Description
Gibson started out on her own in 1991, after playing with Petticoat Junction, Edmonton's first all-girl band, and Jane Hawleys's Cranky Brats. She released her debut CD, Too Far Gone in 1992 to rave reviews across the nation. She was presented with an ARIA award for Most Promising Artist. Her latest album, Be The Woman, captures a distinctive prairie perspective with songs of anger, love, longing, hope, loneliness, and independence.

Be the Woman is the work of a mature songwriter who is sure of her lyrics and sound. The album is a highly diverse collection of lyrics and styles highlighted by Gibson's fine vocals. The song - and the voice - is the thing. Gibson has a rare talent for eloquent but concise storytelling that pulls in listeners of all genders.
