About the Artist
Tom Adler, David Margolin, Jim Mullany and Rob Pine have played in many string bands around the country and where they currently live in New Mexico. Jim and Rob play in the band, The Nattering Nabobs, Tom is with the Fast Peso String Band and David is with the Five Dog String Band. In these bands they play mostly traditional old-time music from the revered masters of old-time from the Civil War through the 20s and 30s but Tom, David, Jim and Rob each has an extensive catalog of original tunes... read more
Album Description
Sweet Nell is an album on CD of original old-time fiddle and banjo/ string band/ dance music from Tom Adler, David Margolin, Jim Mullany and Rob Pine. The tunes on the CD inlude rowdy and rhythmic southern tunes, modal tunes, waltzes, rags, contra tunes and more. Instrumentation includes: fiddles, 5 string fretted and minstrel fretless banjos, guitar, upright bass, mandolin, mando-cello, mando-banjo and cello. Recorded, mixed and mastered in the Southern Rocky Mountain States of New Mexico and Colorado!
