Album Description
TRAVEL is made up of Philippe JONCQUEL (Basses, samples & voice), Dimitri DUPONT (Hammer-dulcimer, djembe, etc.) and Jean-François GION (Hurdy-gurdy, guitar, saz, oud, etc.). Their first album "...Dit Le Vent" (2000) presents the trio’s thoughts on the musical heritage of the planet... A vast task, indeed ! The music is based on folk, enriched with varied ethnic influences brought through the use of traditional instrumentation, all put together with good taste and a decided eclecticism. Scandinavian folk music is mixed with Hindu or Turkish atmospheres and remarkable African percussion, the whole being combined in a very natural way.
