Album Description
This album contain familar nursery rhymes and folk songs for the modern family. It contains a variety of uplifting modern beats and jazz riffs that will have the entire family singing and dancing together. Many of the songs will also be appreciated by square dance enthusiasts. This project was started because Simone wanted to create different sounds using some of Americas favorite nursery rhymes and folk songs. In doing research prior to beginning, he reviewed literally hundreds of original and traditional nursery rhymes and folk song only to find most of them contained one constant, similarity. He couldnt find much originality in the way the songs were arranged, and nothing sounded exciting. Indeed, the parents also had to listen to this constant repetition. Simone could not find anything in the form of an instrumental. He set out to make this CD enjoyable to everyone who would listen. The solution was to use a combination of rock, folk and jazz rhythms. To make the melodies come to life he used variations of the songs in an improvisational jazz setting always underlined with the original melody, and it some instances using two different songs on the same track to enhance the listening pleasure.
