This project represents the greatest challenge that has ever faced me. There is such an aura of mystery which generates throughout the air whenever the subject of this music arises. Album Description
This CD contains volume 1 of the six suites for unaccompanied cello transcribed for viola performed by violist Ronald Houston. The title of the CD is "Conversations," as the music contains many elements of conversational thoughts. Bach's music for solo instruments, such as the Goldberg Variations for solo piano and these suites for unaccompanied viola, is extremely gratifying listening, providing the listener with imaginitive ideas and thoughts and soothing tonal qualities. The recording quality of this cd is quite remarkable, as the solo viola was recorded in 6 tracks and mixed, creating a wonderful ambience. This CD is intended for anyone who loves Bach, the viola or just beautiful music which is rewarding to listen to.
