This recording presents twelve new songs for voice and piano celebrating the border lands of Wales and England, specially commissioned from leading English and Welsh song composers. This August will mark the 21st annual Presteigne Festival, held in this colorful town in the east of Radnorshire, halfway down the border between England and Wales. Founded in 1983 by local composer Adrian Williams and others, the festival commissions new works annually. The 21st anniversary is being celebrated with the commission of 'A Garland for Presteigne,' to which ten composers featured over the years have contributed.
