For Unto Us a Child is Born: Choir of New College, Oxford
Editorial Reviews FOR UNTO US A CHILD IS BORN Choir of New College, Oxford The New College of St. Mary of Winchester at Oxenford was founded in 1379 by William of Wykeham, Bichop of Winchester and sometimes Lord Chancellor of England. His statutes provided for ten chaplains, three clercks and sixteen choristers, the latter to be 'suffiently knowing both to read and sing.' The sixteen choristers of today's choir have in fact remained constant in number since William of Wykeham's time.
