Paul Leddington Wright Presents Crown Him! bring the arranging and conducting of noted choral director Paul Leddington Wright, and the choral sound of the internationally acclaimed Saint Michael’s Singers from England’s historic Coventry Cathedral to North American audiences. This recording offers cathedral settings of classic hymns, including favorites such as “Crown Him with Many Crowns,” “Jesus Shall Reign,” “O God, Our Help in Ages Past,” and “Lo, He Comes with Clouds Descending.” In addition to the rich organ accompaniment from the Cathedral’s 92-rank, 4-manual Harrison & Harrison pipe organ by organists David Poulter and Christopher Argent, brass accompaniment offered by both the Fine Arts Brass Ensemble and the Coventry Cathedral brass is heard on several selections. The recording concludes with an a capella hymn setting of the Charles Wesley “Forth in Thy Name”, showcasing the Singer’s musical finesse and warmth of tone.
