Album Description
"For the Lost and Living", is a collection of works to honor those who helped make the United States a great country, such as "Rosie the Riveter" - Felicia Sandler honoring the women who helped make our aircraft and tanks during WWII; Red Cape Tango - Michael Daugherty arr. Mark Spede. We also honor those who lost their lives or were injured in the horrific attack against America in 2001 as well as other wars of protection; "A Hymn for the Lost and Living" - Eric Ewazen; "For the Unfortunate" - H. Owen Reed. We also have "An American Elegy" by Frank Ticheli honoring those who lost their lives in Columbine, CO. While the preceding pieces are stirring, the highlight has to be the boy soprano solo in Andrew Boysens "Symphony Number 3, JFK". I get goose bumps every time I think about it.
