Spanish Miracles
Editorial Reviews Aage Kvalbein cello To get a feel for what is distinctly Spanish in wine and music, we found out way to the vineyard manor Masia Bach, not far form Barcelona. Here, in a dark high-ceilinged peristyle, with a little fountain bubbling in the middle of the floor, we performed a selection of 19 miraculous, short pieces spanning from the Renaissance to our own era. For some of the recordings an organ was needed. In the village of IAleixar we found a little church with a charming, typically Spanish organ from 1690. That the Spaniards have produced wines that also manifest themselves as sheer miracles is known the world over. Our intention was to find 19 that in mood, attitude and quality would best correspond to each composition. The Basis for this was the belief that Spaniards tastes and since of good music are reflected in the wines they make, that music and wine alike have something to do with the soil, it cultivation and refinement. The nineteen sonorous miracles are reproduced on this CD. The Nineteen liquid miracles are all wines for sale around the world. Aage Kvalbein and Erik Hillestad
