This third volume is the last survivor in EMI's catalog of an extensive series by this superb French pianist. Three complete discs are filled by her visionary Bach performances, recorded in the late 1940s but still sounding extremely stylish. Marcelle Meyer's Mozart (including two rivetingly intense Concertos) and Schubert are just as fine. If you love great piano playing, you owe yourself the treat of hearing Meyer, and this is the only way you'll be able to afford to do that, since her original LPs and 78s bring hundreds of dollars on the collectors' market. And maybe if enough people buy this set EMI will have the sense to bring back the first two volumes. --Leslie Gerber
