The ROUTERmate-TA is part of a family of ROUTERmate products. These products permit a practical and economical network of routers, CSU/DSUs (56K, 64K, T1, and Drop and Insert), ISDN terminal adapters, and other LAN/WAN devices under a single SNMP management platform. The ROUTERmate-TA ISDN BRI Terminal Adapter is ideal for router inter- networking. It can be used for LAN dial- up, overflow and back-up applications. For overflow and back-up use, the ISDN connection is established as required if the primary link should fail or fall short in capacity. The ROUTERmate-TA ISDN Basic Rate (2B+D) terminal adapter includes the NT1 U interface and is compatible with AT&T, Northern Telecom and National ISDN-1 switches. It provides a single physical interface to two 64 kbps B (bear- er) channels. The BONDING protocol is used to combine the two B channels for inputs operating at speeds up to 128 kbps. Dialing can be accomplished using V.25bis commands, DTR, stored numbers, an async terminal, the SNMP platform or Telnet. ROUTERmate-TA provides user-friendly, menu-driven configuration and management screens. Support for SNMP, Telnet and async terminal control set the standard for management flexibility in this price range.
