The CellPipe 20 Series is Lucent's entry-level family of economical ATM-based IP router/bridge digital subscriber line (DSL) modems. These customer premise equipment (CPE) modems enable small business, small office/home office (SOHO), and residential users to leverage their existing local copper loop infrastructure to utilize high-speed DSL services - at speeds 200 times faster than traditional dial-up modems.The CellPipe 20 Series modems are key components in the Lucent end-to-end DSL solution, providing the PC-to-DSL connection that supports a full range of high-bandwidth applications. The CellPipe 20 Series modems allow high-speed connections over a single copper pair with data rates of up to 8 Mbps downstream and 1 Mbps upstream for asymmetric DSL (ADSL) modems and speeds up to 2.3 Mbps in both directions for symmetric DSL (SDSL/SHDSL) modems. Used with Lucent's external POTS splitters and filters, the ADSL modems support one baseband analog voice line being carried over the same copper pair as DSL. The CellPipe 20 Series also supports Lucent's TURN-UP auto-provisioning mechanism, speeding service delivery time and centralizing configuration management for the provider. In addition, embedded SNMP streamlines monitoring, management, and configuration.The CellPipe 20 Series includes several models to address a complete range of user needs for high-speed Internet access and data delivery. The CellPipe 20A-GX is an ADSL Annex A DSL modem that supports both G.Lite and full rate DMT. G.Lite technology eliminates the need for a splitter or additional home wiring for streamlined service startup.
