The Hotwire 6351 ReachDSL Router caters to the diverse needs of users at the customer premises and is designed to deliver up to 1 Mbps of intelligent bandwidth for point-to-point applications. Advanced routing features include simultaneous routing of IP protocols and bridging of all other protocols, simultaneous network address translation (NAT) and network port address translation (PAT) for simplified integration into existing Ethernet networks and reduced IP address complexity. The integrated dynamic host control protocol (DHCP) server simplifies local IP administration by providing up to 250 end-user devices with dynamically assigned IP addresses. Network design flexibility is provided with support for local subnets, as well as support for geographically separated subnets through address resolution protocols (ARPs). The DHCP server also supports DHCP relay agent functionality. In addition, the on-board PPPoE Client eliminates the need for the service provider to install software onto the end user's PC, thereby reducing installation and operational issues that can occur.The Hotwire ReachDSL family of products has achieved distances in excess of 30,000 feet in real world deployment. This industry-leading performance is obtained mainly due to the ReachDSL family of products operating at frequencies below 100 kHz. This results in an unimpaired performance and less attenuation even in the presence of T1/E1 disturbers. Hotwire ReachDSL is unique in that it will maintain the highest possible speed and longest possible reach in the presence of common real-world disturbers.
