Allied Telesyn's highly modular AR740 router has been developed to win market share in the competitive corporate branch office segment. It is designed to provide a cost-effective, multi-service network integration platform for the larger branch office and corporate location, where high data throughput and flexible connectivity options are required. The AR740 platform leverages much of the work put into the highly successful AR720 modular access router, using a similar modular style and employing the same family of Port Interface Cards (PICs). A considerable enhancement in performance and connectivity are achieved through a new family of Network Service Modules (NSM), which offer greater WAN connection density.
