SMC's EZ Card 10/100 PCI network card is among the most affordable Fast Ethernet cards on the market today. And, it couldn't be easier to use. This 32-bit PCI card is fully auto-configurable upon power-up through the host computer's BIOS setup program. It supports 32-bit data transfer mode and early receive and transmit interrupt to eliminate I/O bottlenecks. And, it features bus-master architecture to reduce CPU utilization. The result is increased throughput. This dual-speed card has a single RJ-45 connector for both data rates, making it simple and cost-effective for you to future-proof your network. And, it features Auto-Negotiation for automatic selection of the highest data rate and operating mode supported by the attached device. Simply connect the card to an Ethernet hub or switch and it will operate at 10 Mbps. When you need additional bandwidth, just connect the card to a Fast Ethernet device and it will automatically operate at 100 Mbps. The EZ Card 10/100 ships with drivers for most popular network operating systems. Drivers are available on SMC's installation diskette or Web site. Also, the card has an on-board socket for an optional boot ROM.
