Compaq Server Console Switches are key components for rack mount implementations. The family of Compaq Server Console Switches allows multiple servers in a rack to be accessed and managed by one keyboard, mouse, and monitor. The Compaq Server Console Switch family consists of five models, a 2-Port, 4-Port, and three 8-Port models. The two 8-Port models provide dual user functionality, allowing system control by more then one user. This multi-user console switch has 2 user ports for multi-user console access and multi-system connections. Also it features an On-Screen Display (OSD), which displays system-related information on the console monitor, Programmable Scanning, which allows to scan any or all of the computers in the system, NVRAM Configuration - NVRAM (non-volatile RAM) set configuration information from the keyboard, Hardware Reset Switch, which resets the unit without interrupting power, Password Protection for preventing unauthorized access. The switch is firmware upgradable you can update the application code quickly and easily.
