The StarTech.com USB StarView KVM switch allows up to 4 PCs, G3/G4 Macs, or iMacs with USB ports to be conveniently controlled from 1 USB keyboard, 1 USB mouse, and 1 monitor (Mac OS X currently doesn't support the hot-swapping of USB devices). A single user can easily switch between any of the connected computers with the press of a button. By allowing a single console to manage all of the attached computers and USB peripherals, the StarView eliminates the expense of purchasing separate keyboards, monitors, mice and peripherals for each system, and the time and hassle of moving between them. This unique switch has the added ability to share 2 additional USB peripherals among the connected computers. For example, if a USB printer and scanner were connected to these 2 additional ports, any computer that is currently selected by the switch could use them. This makes the switch perfect for education, graphic artists, help desks, or PC enthusiasts, where giving all their computers access to the same peripherals would increase productivity.
