Product Description
The D-LinkOFFICE 10/100BASE-T Print Server DP-300 provides network print services at dual speeds of 10Mbps and 100Mbps. The DP-300 features one NWAY auto-negotiation interface for maximum speed and ease of use. The DP-300 is IEEE 802.3 10Base-T and 802.3u 100Base-TX compliant, so it operates with all other network equipment that complies with these standards. It is also IEEE 1284 for the parallel ports. NWAY auto-negotiation provides optimum ease-of-use by sensing the transmission speed. The DP-300 then automatically configures each port to the highest supported speed. The DP-300 is designed to work with all popular Network Operating systems. The DP-300 Supports TCP/IP, NetBEUI, and Appletalk protocols. The DP-300 includes a versatile administrative program that operates under Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows NT, and Unix (via telnet). The DP-300 also includes an SNMP agent, standard MIB-II (RFC 1213) for easy network management.
Amazon.com Product Description
The D-Link DP-300 print server helps manage the flow of print jobs, efficiently, from your network, so file servers and workstations are free from printing tasks. You can use it where printers are concentrated in the same location, connecting to as many as three printers at one time.
The D-Link DP-300 comes equipped with two high-speed parallel ports and one 9-pin DTE serial port transmitting at up to 57.6 Kbps. Parallel ports support HP PJL (Printer Job Language) for printer management protocol, allowing bidirectional network printer communication that provides the administrator with critical information about the network printers. It also provides an auto-sensing, dual-speed 10/100 Mbps port, so you can attach to either a 10Base-T or 100Base-TX network. The LAN port detects the type of connection you need and adjusts the speed accordingly, by itself.
The D-Link DP-300 print server is simple to operate, and it's compatible with all major networks. Plus, it fits in the palm of your hand.
