Asante's FriendlyNET GX4 400 comes with 4 100/1000 Mbps (RJ-45) copper standard ports. The ports can function at 1000 Mbps or drop to 100 Mbps, making them compatible with older PCs or Macs. This switch is completely adaptable to Category 5 UTP wiring, and each gigabit port on the GX4 400 is self-correcting for MDI crossover and other common wiring problems.
FriendlyNET's GX4 400 transmits and receives at 1000 Mbps simultaneously. LEDs display and monitor gigabyte link, 100 MB link, activity, and duplex status (FDX). It also comes with a link-quality monitor that continually adjusts for dynamic cable conditions. Management software is not part of the GX4 400's design, but a digital signal processor that automatically tunes for digital adaptive equalization and echo along with crosstalk cancellation is included.
