Designed to provide connectivity to high-speed servers and power users, as well as for Gigabit Ethernet workgroup aggregation, the 6-port Matrix 6G302-06 high-density switching module for the Matrix E6 and E7 delivers pinpoint control to critical network-entry areas, without the expense and complexity of routed solutions. The Matrix 6G302-06 also offers the throughput and port density needed to eliminate bandwidth concerns and serve in the largest networks. Using embedded Layer 2-4 services and NetSight Atlas Policy Manager, the Matrix 6G302-06 brings comprehensive Quality of Service, security and traffic containment to desktops and servers at the network edge, automatically. Network managers can now guarantee delivery of high-priority applications, enable service level agreements (SLAs) by provisioning bandwidth, and prevent security breaches by stopping them at their sources. With comprehensive security features, including IP Access Control Lists, Radius Authentication, security passwords and SNMP management VLANs, the Matrix 6G302-06 is protected from intruder attacks. The module also delivers user-based security and authentication via port-based MAC address locking and support for the IEEE 802.1X authentication standard. The Matrix 6G302-06 provides a broad, yet standards-based, feature set. Unlike many competitive switching solutions, advanced multilayer switching services, 9 groups of RMON, and feature-rich configuration/classification capabilities are available at no additional charge.
