The SmartSwitch 2200 is an innovative workgroup/desktop switch that brings affordable, high-performance desktop switching with connectivity to the Wide Area Network or high-speed Local Area Network backbones. Designed with features usually found only in top-of-the-line data center switches, the SmartSwitch 2200 enhances the SmartSwitch family by providing the industry's most complete feature set at the workgroup and desktop levels of the enterprise. Functioning as a standalone switch, the SmartSwitch 2200 provides twenty-four 10Mbps switch ports, two optional Fast Ethernet switch interfaces, and an optional High Speed Interface Module (HSIM) that can be used for backbone connectivity. Available with a single power supply or dual, load-sharing power sources, the SmartSwitch 2200 can be used as a high-speed desktop switch or as a workgroup switch feeding building or campus backbones. For the corporate remote site or small office, the SmartSwitch 2200 is the ideal solution (users and servers are provided with dedicated Ethernet/Fast Ethernet LAN connectivity as well as high-speed access over the WAN to corporate headquarters or the Internet). The SmartSwitch 2200 will deliver over 400,000 packets per second of Ethernet switching performance and wire-speed connectivity for network users and servers.
