Standalone media converters convert UTP to fiber, and multi-mode fiber to single mode. The Fast Ethernet converters also boost network performance simply and affordably while leveraging existing UTP hardware investments. Autosensing on the copper port of the Fast Ethernet converter allows easy conversion of 10/100BASE-TX to fiber 100BASE-FX, with fiber distances available up to 2km in multi-mode and 100km in single mode. If signals are lost in the event of cable failure, LinkSentry remote sensing technology allows the converter to pass through line or loop back failures, assuring prompt notification.This product is designed for distances up to 70km.
