The SmartSwitch 2200 is the ideal Ethernet workgroup solution for environments requiring high-density dedicated switching in a compact, fault-tolerant standalone device. Line rate switching performance ensures that the SmartSwitch 2200 is equipped to deal with ever increasing demands on the network. The 2E253-49R's advanced design offers 48 switched 10Base-T ports, built-in redundant power supplies and optional high-speed backbone connectivity. It also features nine groups of RMON, full duplex operation on every port, Enterasys' SmartMirror and SmartTrunk, and support for 802.1Q/p standards-based traffic prioritization/Virtual LANs - high-end features at an affordable price. In addition to the high density and advanced features, the SmartSwitch 2200 also provides flexible, fully integrated connectivity to high-speed LAN technologies such as Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, ATM, FDDI or the WAN. The SmartSwitch 2200's VHSIM slot can accept a VHSIM or an HSIM to provide a flexible, fault-tolerant backbone connection ensuring integration into the network infrastructure and the maximum level of investment protection.
