The Allied Telesyn International AT-3716XL Ethernet workgroup switch is an Ethernet switch with 16 10Base-T ports, one fixed high speed 10/100BaseTX port, and one slot for an additional 10/100BaseTX or 100BaseFX port. With 16 10Base-T ports and two 100Mbps uplinks, the AT-3716XL switch is designed to provide high performance to workgroups and departments. It can be used to link hubs to increase performance in existing shared media LANs, as well as providing dedicated bandwidth for demanding applications such as client/server and multimedia applications.All ports on the AT-3716XL switch can auto-negotiate for half/full duplex modes providing maximum flexibility. The 10/100Mbps ports also auto-negotiate for speed allowing for seamless connectivity to legacy 10Mbps devices as well as 100Mbps Fast Ethernet devices. Standards-based 802.1Q VLAN tagging allows network administrators to group users logically, control broadcasts, and enhance security. Automatic MAC address learning and aging capabilities make setting up the switch a simple task. Support for static addresses provides even greater flexibility. Spanning Tree algorithm helps prevent loops and speeds network recovery in case of failure. The result is improved network performance and unmatched flexibility.
