This is a high-performance Fast Ethernet module for the SmartSwitch 9000, providing 16 auto-negotiating 10/100Base-TX ports via RJ45 interfaces. In addition, this module delivers two GPIM slots for Gigabit Ethernet.The GPIM slot can be populated with a variety of media types, including switched 1000Base-SX/LX Gigabit Ethernet. Typical applications in the SmartSwitch 9000 chassis may include simultaneously providing multiple connections to end users or servers with fully integrated connectivity to the campus backbone via the high-speed VHSIM uplink or Gigabit Ethernet interface. It is also ideal for environments requiring high connectivity to high-speed backbone technologies, and their advanced design provides 2,200,000 pps of forwarding capacity with a complete feature set including support for 10/100 auto-negotiation, RMON, SmartTRUNKing, port mirroring, and full duplex capabilities on all interfaces.
