Allied Telesyn's Fast Ethernet Transceivers provide a simple network connection between a standard 40 pin Media Independent Interface (MII) and any Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) Fast Ethernet cable. These transceivers are used to provide additional media options to Fast Ethernet hubs, switches, bridges and routers equipped with a standard MII. These 100Base-TX and 100Base-T4 transceivers provide secure, reliable and convenient network connections.For installations using Category 5 UTP or Type 1 shielded twisted pair (STP) cabling, the AT-MX300TX is the appropriate transceiver. Common to all Allied Telesyn Fast Ethernet Transceivers is a compact steel chassis designed for secure connection with an MII. Transceiver power is provided through the MII interface and eliminates the need for an additional power supply. Status LEDs on all transceivers make it easy for LAN administrators to quickly identify and resolve network problems. The AT-MX300TX supports cable distances of 100 meters over 2 pairs of Category 5 UTP or Type 1 STP with RJ45 connectors. The AT-MX300TX includes NWay auto-negotiation between 10Mb/s and 100Mb/s resulting in automatic detection and adjustment to the appropriate network data speed. Additionally, the AT-MX300TX supports both half and full duplex modes via auto-negotiation with the device at the opposite segment end. For convenience, when the AT-MX300TX is operating at 10Mb/s, the transceiver provides automatic polarity detection and correction of network cables. When an incorrectly assembled cable with reverse polarity is detected, the transceiver will automatically "roll" the wire pair for proper connection without network interruption.
