The FlexCeiver 10 line is an IEEE 802.3 compatible family comprised of Medium Attachment Unit (MAU) transceivers that provide physical medium connection to products featuring Attachment Unit Interface (AUI) connectors. Each member of the FlexCeiver 10 family features an AUI connector and provides connectivity to a different medium: The FlexCeiver 10FL model supports 10Base-FL and connects to fiber optic cabling; the FlexCeiver 10T model supports 10Base-T and connects to unshielded twisted pair (UTP) wiring; and the FlexCeiver 10B2 model supports 10Base-2 and connects to coax cabling. All FlexCeiver models are powered from the AUI connector.Both the "10FL" and "10T" models support switch-selectable half-duplex or full-duplex operation. This function makes them ideal for traditional shared 10Base applications as well as modern high-performance switched 10Base applications. In a switched full-duplex 10Base environment, the 10FL and 10T models can double data throughput over traditional transceivers. They allow a high-performance workstation or server connected to a switch to double the data transfer rate to 20 megabits per second (Mbps).
