The Actiontec 54 Mbps Wireless Access Point provides the freedom of wireless connectivity without sacrificing the speed of wired networking. It bridges the wireless and wired networks providing a seamless extension to the Ethernet network. Home and office users can create fast, flexible networks without the need to install wires or cables. The Access Point offers speeds up to 54 Mbps outperforming many Ethernet LAN installations. An onboard antenna further maximizes the operating range to provide connectivity at up to 400 feet indoors. The Access Point works with all 10 Base-T and 100 Base-Tx networks using a RJ45 connector. After connecting it to an open network port, configuration is simplified by using any standard Web browser. The Actiontec 54 Mbps Wireless Access Point offers encryption capabilities to help secure the wireless network. It supports both the WEP 40-bit standard and the more advanced RC4 128-bit standard for complete data security. The unit's administration utilities and settings can also be password protected. The 54 Mbps Wireless Access Point is Wi-Fi certified to ensure full compatibility with other Wi-Fi certified products that use the IEEE 54 Mbps protocol. The Access Point supports advanced networking and management features, including SNMP, IP filtering and roaming.
