Where's the complete season 2?.......2006-11-20
X-MEN: EVOLUTION truly is an excellent coming-of-age superhero series. The choices made regarding who would be reincarnated as teenagers and who would remain as adults generally pay off. I find Cyclops and Jean to be more interesting characters as angst-ridden teens. It would've been intriguing to have had Wolverine as a highschooler, as he would've undoubtedly out-grouched even the sullen Rogue, but never mind. Kurt (Nightcrawler), on the other hand, is a pure hoot; the exuberant fuzzy blue elf is one of my favorites.
The animation here is more than adequate, and the voice acting, particularly that of Logan and Prof. Xavier, is spot on. This series is definitely worth collecting, and I guess those bums at Warner Brothers are very aware of that. Warner Brothers enjoys making us wait for the complete season 2 package. That, or the company must be really racking up the greenbacks from the gullibles who pay extra money collecting these mini-sets. Alas, I'm one of those suckers, at least, with this particular dvd. But this one, I just had to have.
It's a bit challenging to review these X-MEN:EVOLUTION four- and five-episode packs without mentioning the other, unincluded episodes of the season and its general story arc. Fortunately, three of the episodes here are self-contained stories, while "Mindbender" is a precursor to momentous events which happen in the third season. X-MEN: EVOLUTION - ENEMIES UNVEILED (Volume 3) includes episodes 9 thru 12 from Season 2 and offers up two of my favorite episodes of the entire series: the amusing "Walk on the Wild Side" - wherein the girls form their own strictly female crime-fighting club, the Bayville Sirens - & "Operation Rebirth" - wherein, during World War 2, Wolverine teams up with Captain America.
The other two episodes are "Joyride" - in which Lance (Avalance of the Brotherhood of Mutants) briefly joins the X-Men - & the eerie "Mindbender" - in which Jean Grey is acting really strange. As mentioned before, "Mindbender" sets the table for a key storyline in season 3.
This dvd contains several paltry special features: "Meet the New Mutants"; "Behind the Brotherhood with Mystique"; and Wolverine's Trivia Challenge. Really, if not for "Walk on the Wild Side" and "Operation Rebirth," I would've held out for the Complete Season 2 dvd package, which I hope isn't long in arriving. Warner Brothers, c'mon, get it together. What's taking so long, bubs?
just the ep-not the features.......2006-03-14
Rating it 5 cuz people think main stuff their looking for are the episodes, but features do play an important role, this time the xtras were not ssssoooo awesome ..just ok.
Very Good.......2004-07-29
In all of the other X-men DVDs, they show very little on the couple that i like the best. Kitty and Lance. the first episode Joyride, is when Lance joins the X-men. Not everyone is pleased, but almost all are. Scott is the one who hates Lance and Doesen't believe that Lance is doing this out of truth. well when cars, jets, start mysterisoly getting very dirtty. Scott blames it all on Lance. But is it Lance or is someone else having the Joyride?? and Walk on the Wild Side is a episode very good towards "Girl Power" Jean, Boom Boom, Rouge, Magma,Kitty decide to become the BayVille Sirens. Stoping crime and Wearing Leather in the process. the other Two epsiodes are worth getting the Disc After All, any X-Men DVD is worth it.
X-Men: Evolution fans unite!.......2004-06-18
This DVD features the Season Two episodes:
Joyride - When Lance (Avalanche) decides to join the X-men, he finds it hard to fit in and to make matters worse, he gets the blame for trashing the "X-cars". When the real culprets: Iceman, Jubilee, and Cannonball decide to take the X-Jet out for a "spin", Lance and Kitty (Shadowcat) stow away to stop them, but, when the controls are damaged and they're being followed, can they get out alive?
Walk on the Wild Side - When Amara (Magma) and Jean feel like the boys think they're better than the girls, Tabitha (Boom Boom) gets Kitty (Shadowcat) and Rogue to join them in a girls' crime fighting group, the Bayville Sirens! When they go looking for trouble, they find it, and are followed by a couple of friendly faces, and one not so.
Operation: Rebirth - When Magneto steals the remnants of the top secret "Rebirth" project, which Wolverine helped shut down way back in World War II, Logan has no choice but to try and stop him when S.H.I.E.L.D. and its top agent, Nick Fury, alert him to Magneto's plan.
Guest Stars: Nick Fury and Captain America.
Mindbender - After visiting the circus, Jean starts acting strangely and disappears. The X-men find out that she's being controlled by a mysterious man named Mesmero, and collecting artifacts for him, but when Jean isn't enough, Mesmero decides that the only way to get the rest of what he needs is to control more of the X-men!
Guest Stars: Mesmero
All great, the last episode has the first reference in the series to Apocalypse, the villain featured in the series finale, so, in a way, this DVD is the beginning of the end for the X-men.

This great collection includes the following 4 X-Men Revolution episodes: 1) The Beast of Bayville: In an attempt to quell his growing animal instincts, Bayville High Teacher Hank McCoy tests a serum on himself, and unleashes the beast within. 2) Adrift: During Scott's visit to Hawaii, he attempts to rescue his brother, Alex, who has been pulled out to sea on his surfboard during a terrible storm. 3) On Angel's Wings: A new mutant appears in New York during the Christmas holiday Angel (Warren K. Worthington III), who wants to be the guardian angel of the city, and publicly help people. Or perhaps she's not hallucinating....

Great, but needs more Special Fetures and more episodes.......2004-02-18
Great series, you should get all the DVDs in this series since it is a on gooing storyline, but you can figure it out one at a time. I do think Marvel needs to stop worrying so much about how much money they can make off releasing these 4 epidoes at a time and look at releasing seasons at a time. I refuse to buy them all one disc at a time then later on buy a new re-released season set. Plus they are way behind on releasing these, so hurry up Marvel! Wonderful DVDs to own though!
More animation excellence from Season 2.......2003-11-05
"Powers Revealed" continues the issuance of episodes from "X-Men: Evolution." This disc includes the following episodes from Season 2:
1) The Beast of Bayville - the episode describing how Hank McCoy joins the X-Men.
2) Adrift - Cyclops and his brother Havok are lost at sea.
3) On Angel's Wings - one of the best of the entire series, this special Christmas episode focuses on Warren Worthington III, and the X-Men's & Magneto's attempts to recruit him to their opposing sides.
4) African Storm - An African witch-doctor steals Storm's powers.
These eps are all great, but it would be nice if Warner Bros. would just release these shows by the season, as opposed to four eps to a disc.

will there be a box set?.......2006-09-02
I agree season 2 needed to be in one set. for this reason i have not given it a 4 or 5.I have season 3 in one boxset its nicer than in multiples and there should be a season 4 out because when it was on tv I recorded it they had a few episodes with apokolips but i never got the final big battle. I don't think they showed the last one.Amazon can creat one if they wanted this is the only place I have found the season 1 boxset SO THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE A SEASON 2 THE SAME WAY.
GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2006-02-21
Don't get me wrong this is a great dvd but why do they keep releasing them in these annoying 4-5 episodes per disc. I'm glad about season three because I heard somewhere it was coming out in 0NE single package.
Where is season 3?.......2005-10-23
This is the 4th volume for season 2. This is by far the best of the DVDs for the X-Men evolution series. I loved them all, but this was the best. There were some very creative plot twists and things start to get a bit more intense. I loved what they did with Wanda, The Scarlet Witch. If you are an X-Men fan, you won't be disappointed.
Why not release all of the season in one package?.......2005-10-11
I was holding of on buying any of theese indivedual DVD's with the hope of them releasing them all the together. Unfortunatlly they didn't and they probobly wont. This is the first X-men evolution DVD I bought and it has some of my favorite episodes. Including Retreat (Beast is thought to be bigfoot) and the season 2 finally. I only wish that they would come out with season three. Even if I have to buy them individually I would get them. I think that season three was where the series finally took off only to be shut down. Anyway; I think that these episodes are worth it by themselves, but only at ten buck, which is what I paid for them.
I'm waiting for season three!!!!
Great series.......2005-01-02
I'd only watched one episode of this X-Men cartoon before. Coincedentally enough, it was actually the first episode on this DVD. I don't think I'd ever watched it all the way through, though.
Like many of the WB Kids titles, X-Men Evolution is released with just a handful (5 in this case) of episodes per DVD. Unlike most (and perhaps all) of the other WB Kids title, they're actually in sequence. Mystique's Revenge is actually Season 2, Volume 4. My understanding after watching the trailers on the DVD is that Season 1 and Season 2 have each been released in their entirity on 4 DVD's apiece.
I'm a little upset that I had never caught this toon before. I honestly knew very little about it before watching this DVD. It is an excellent series. They have definitely changed things around from the comic book and even from the movie. Wolverine, Storm and Beast seem to be the resident adults, while others including Cyclops and Jean Grey have been made teenagers. As corny as that sounds, it actually seems to work out quite well, at least in these five episodes.
I'm not going to go into too much detail regarding the plot of the actual episodes. Some were lighter than others, but they did an excellent job leading into the 2-part season finale. Which leads to whyI'm now irritated. I loved the cartoon, and it was to be continued. The next one can't come out soon enough.

Customer Reviews:
A good series to collect if you're not uptight about adaptations........2006-11-10
This series is a "teenified" version of the familiar X-Men stories and characters in the comics of the last 30 years or so. I won't say anything that spoils any surprises (This was a series that actually followed a progression over all, Season-to-Season) but if certain adjustments; like Scott Summers and Jean Grey being way younger than Wolverine in appearance, all the X-men going to a regular high school in addition to being "students" at the Xavier school, "the brotherhood" being all comprised of teens, bother you, then you probably won't be able to stomach this series which can at times feel like "Saved By The Bell" cast with Marvel Mutants. They play fast and loose with the continuity borrowed from the comic books. If you're a purist, you won't like any of this --Which would be too bad, because the action sequences are dynamic and beautifully animated, the voice characterizations are spot on. In general, the stories are pretty light in tone, not like the adult tone of the "Justice League Unlimited" Series or the "Ultimate Avengers" DVD movies for example. They tend to raise the stakes near the end of the seasons across this series.
As a media product Season 2 Volume 1 is a good quality DVD in my opinion. These DVDs are however a little short on extras and behind the scenes material. They should do away with all the trailers and promotion and save that space for featurettes and "making of" shorts.
Better than the 90's crap.......2004-04-19
This series doesn't mince words with the comic. If you are looking for cheesy characters and the same old story line as the comics go for the 90's episodes. If your going for something new and a revitilized x-men than watch this. This is a new day for mutants and shows the trouble of high school teenage mutants. My son and I watch it and both enjoy it, so it is good from 4 yr's old to 27. Those of us who have been reading for a while will recognize and be amazed by how many chaaracters are brought to the new generation that we remember from our youth. really a great show and worthwile buy.
Should've released it as the complete second season.......2004-03-01
The first season of this show was where it started. The sceond season was when it started to get reall good. All of these episodes are good but i'm kinda getting bored with Badda-Bing Badda-Boom. Tabitha is a good charcter and she comes back to the institute in the third season. She leaves the brotherhood house when Mystique came back. She wasn't happy to learn that Avalanche had tried to join the X-men but she soon straightens them out. Power Surge focuses on Jean and her teleapthy problem. The team helps her get under control soon. This is a great bunch of episodes and i'm sad that the series was cancelled. It's still on Cartoon Network though.
Great show, so-so DVD.......2003-12-08
Unfortunately, the WB is very poor at marketing DVDs for their animated series. This show is best viewed as a series, and it would have made more sense to simply come out with the entire second season on 1 DVD than simply throw a few episodes on a disc. That being said, if you can't wait for them to do that, I recommend grabbing this DVD. No extra features are included, but the show is one of the best comic book adapatations I've seen.
Look Again, Daniel from Carbondale, IL.......2003-10-12
Looks like you didn't give the series a chance. Jubilee is in fact in season 2, have not you seen the fireworks? She is there with Iceman, Cannonball, Berserker, Magma, and others. Gambit comes later along with Pyro and Colossus when the time for Apokalips is at hand. So if your gonna post a reveiw, make sure you got your facts right okay. Toodles

X-Men Evolution. These episodes introduce important characters of good and bad nature. They introduce THE BLOB,QUICKSILVER and SPYKE even though in series three Spyke isn't a main character.
It's best to buy or watch UnXpected Changes first if you don't get the storyline.
UnXpected Changes is the first part of Series 1.
Xplosive Days is the second part.
X marks the Spot is the third part
But you'll have to pre-order the final part out in September 2003.
This video isn't as good as some of the episodes in Series 3 but they are a good way to introduce main character.
So I believe this is one wicked video.

just in case you were wondering what 3 episodes this include.......2003-01-15
i don't think anyone else has mentioned this, but the three episodes on this video are:
- mutant crush, feat. the blob and jean grey
- speed and spyke, feat. spyke and quicksilver
- and middleverse, feat. nightcrawler and forge
these were the orig. ep. 4-6 in season one of the evolution series and thus they were the first appearances of the blob (who gets recruited by mystique and who develops a crush on jean grey), spyke and quicksilver (former friends who get recruited by mystique and the x-men respectively), and forge who has been trapped in a place outside of time b/c of an invention gone slightly awry and who gets brought back when nightcrawler gets ported there.
worth 3 or 4 stars, although these episodes aren't nearly as good as the later ones, such as the ones late in season one and season two. if i were going to get just one of the vhs tapes i'd get one of the other two first, esp. since both of those inc. an episode w/ rogue.
x men evolution review.......2002-12-10
I think the episodes were so,so cool. My favorite episode is
speed or spyke because it introduces the young Evan Daniel's
and he's my favourite character. I think you would really like
it. you face heap's of action and adventure. I think it's the
best.
