5 out of 5 stars one of my favorite troma flicks!.......2006-12-13

i should say that i do make a hobby of watching b movies, and i don't critique them, tear them apart or put them down, i just very much enjoy many of them-- i'd much rather stick to the soft, dark underbelly of the film industry and the birds can have the flashy big-budget hoo-ray-for-hollywood stuff. to me sucker is just a very sweet movie-- i really like vampire stories, heart-warming relationships and quirky/offbeat comedy, all of which (and more) are contained in this piece of work. i like the acting, i think this was well cast, the people seem to really get into their parts in a sincere way. there is a combination of a gothic atmosphere and a warm hearted feeling--which sounds unusual but somehow works very well, and smoothly avoids cliches---a thing which i feel starkly polarizes audiences in the way they react to a film. to me it doesn't matter who knows i'm watching this movie, it's just a touching bit of filmmaking and i'm simply happy to be able to enjoy it.

1 out of 5 stars This [stinks].......2002-07-08

This isn't worth the postage you must pay to have it shipped to your home. What a waste of time and money. A vampire with AIDS? A cast with no talent. A story with no plot. My 17-year-old son could have done better with a free webcam for subscribing to DSL. This TROMA disaster is an insult to filmmaking. Get out your crosses and Holy water and rid this flick from your library. This ranks, in my book, as one of (if not THE) worse films I've ever seen. Trust me. Get out now, while you still have a choice. PR

2 out of 5 stars Where do we get these actors?.......2002-04-03

For some reason I continue to love Troma's films. I saw this one ... and I thought, "Hey, why not?" This is a creative vampire movie. It involves a vampire who has AIDS which is a rare concept for vampire movies. However, the beginning was so much like Queen of the Damned, I was waiting for Stuart Townsend to pop up. Oh, and if only he would have. The lead character could not have been any more annoying. Sure, Troma's movies are always travesties of great cinema, but almost always, they are incredibly creative. There is nudity, violence and language. This movie is strictly for Troma fans.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best!.......2000-07-01

This is not only one of the better Troma releases, it's also one of the better movies I've ever seen. The story is about a vampire who contracts AIDS. Director/writer Hans Rodionoff manages to make a very tragic circumstance, coming down with AIDS, very funny, without making fun of the virus, or those that have it. This is also due to the fine acting of star Alex Erkiletian, playing the comical Reed, the henchman to the lead vampire. I can't recommend this enough. After watching the movie be sure to watch it again, to hear the alternate audio track by Alex and Hans. This is even funnier than the original movie sound. The only drawback is that there are no unique added features to this Troma DVD other than the other audio track. If there were some this would be perfect.

5 out of 5 stars A wonderful film!.......1999-06-23

This is the greatest thing Troma has released in years. Given that their last release was the abyssmal "The Chosen One" this might not sound like much, but this is a great movie. It is about a vampire who gets AIDS. There is a hilarious audio commentary by director Hans Rodionoff and star Alex Erkiletian. The pages from Troma comics are the only bad thing, both on the DVD and in print. Also, no Edge TV, contrary to box. Also nothing new on disc, other than the movie. But the movie is worth it.

    2 out of 5 stars Haha *yawn*.......2006-06-05

So it was funny, I guess. The point is that they're all stupid, and we get to kind of have fun letting them be stupid and run around the woods. I get it, I should say... fun! Yeah...

I don't know, I think a few things in this were pretty creative, mostly the different type of stuff the killer did and the whole side-story involving the transvestite. I also like the references to Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Deliverance (at this point, can you even have a killer woodsman story without said references?). Also, the whole duct tape thing was a great motif.

I actually think the funniest and most interesting part of the movie was the credits, though. Wardrobe provided by Wal-Mart. Yeah, good stuff.

4 out of 5 stars Is that a knife in your side, or are you happy to see me?.......2004-09-19

When you and your friends go for an adventure in camping (where a brutal massacre took place), remember to never "split up." There might just be a transsexual (who mixes martinis with a dildo)living alone in the woods. This film is low budget and independent, but has a different "unrealistic" spin off. Sure, the acting is purposely exaggerated, and the sound effects probably came from a Bugs Bunny cartoon, but when someone is killed, they...don't..exactly..die. They just grab their arms and legs from the ground and run screaming while hitting our killer in a bee bonnet who skips through the forest like he's high on skittles. Funny if you love horror films and don't mind mindless humor. It had a pretty good start but begins to lose my interest in the ending. But stick it through...the last scene is typical Troma. This movie is probably not for most people, but it's a unique piece that lives up to its name.

    5 out of 5 stars One of Troma's best!.......2004-03-03

I first saw the trailer for this movie when I bought Cannibal the Musical. That was about 3 years ago and I've wanted to see it since then. I just watched this movie and I have to say it was grrrrrrrrrrrrrreat! If you are a fan of Troma then this movie is for you. It has your usual dark morbid sence of humor. Beating people with severed arms and using a guys head as a dummy. I highly recommend giving this movie a watch.

5 out of 5 stars one great movie and great soundtrack........2002-04-21

This movie has it all: blood, guts , duct tape and a hardcore soundtrack. You see 7 friends go camping and there is a killer on the loose. Every time he cuts off a body part, the victom duct tapes it back on, that is hilarious. Also on the soundtrack is Hatebreed, Strife, H20, among other good HC bands. i would sugust you to buy this film!!!!!!

    2 out of 5 stars Cheezy!.......2001-07-18

For a horror film, the thought of a hunter skipping through the woods doesn't really scare me. The fake blood was a bit much. I think that I saw atleast three gallons of it through out the duration of the film. If you just want something to laugh at, this is your film. But it is an embarrasment to all horror films.

5 out of 5 stars Surprisingly good, much to my chagrin!.......1999-04-10

I normally don't go for movies like this one, but the comical performances of Ryan Lowery and Steve Ladden as the transvestite and Toby (respectively) had me rolling on the floor laughing! This is a great movie for a beer night with the guys!

5 out of 5 stars The best movie I ever made, er, saw!.......1999-01-29

Look out midnight movie goers!!! You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll puke, you'll die! Decampitated is a slapstick, bloody mess with above B-movie performances and a killer soundtrack. If you're a Troma groupie you'll need to add this to your collection.

i should say that i do make a hobby of watching b movies, and i don't critique them, tear them apart or put them down, i just very much enjoy many of them-- i'd much rather stick to the soft, dark underbelly of the film industry and the birds can have the flashy big-budget hoo-ray-for-hollywood stuff. to me sucker is just a very sweet movie-- i really like vampire stories, heart-warming relationships and quirky/offbeat comedy, all of which (and more) are contained in this piece of work. i like the acting, i think this was well cast, the people seem to really get into their parts in a sincere way. there is a combination of a gothic atmosphere and a warm hearted feeling--which sounds unusual but somehow works very well, and smoothly avoids cliches---a thing which i feel starkly polarizes audiences in the way they react to a film. to me it doesn't matter who knows i'm watching this movie, it's just a touching bit of filmmaking and i'm simply happy to be able to enjoy it.
