LaCie hard disk drives are the subject of exhaustive testing in LaCie's qualification laboratory (thermal and mechanical analysis, performance report, multi-OS testing, hot pluggability and RAID compliance). LaCie's hard disk range covers all current interfaces: narrow and wide SCSI (Ultra SCSI-3, Ultra2 SCSI/LVD), SSA (Serial Storage Architecture), EIDE (Ultra ATA-3), parallel port (standard, ECP, EPP and bi-directional), USB (Universal Serial Bus) and IEE1394 FireWire. All La Cie external hard disk drives are stackable and equipped with a cooling fan, built-in power supply, 7/15 rotary SCSI address ID's (with push buttons) and 2 standard SCSI connectors. Most hard drives are available in the "d2 model" (metallic, bullet proof design) and the "eko model" (compact, portable, plastic design). LaCie's original eXtract design enables fixed disk exchanges in one single dock or tower, as well as data migration from one site to another. Internal mounting kits for most current CPU's are also available: do not hesitate to ask your sales rep. for the required kit. A vast range of SCSI controllers for Mac and PC, RAID software (Joule RAID) and controllers, SCSI to SCSI bridge, software utilities (cross-platform software suite, driver software (Silverlining / Silverlining Lite / Silverlining d2) complement and optimize LaCie's hard disk quality.
