The new USB Flipdisk is smaller, lighter, faster and offers more capacity than any other portable data storage device currently available. The USB Flipdisk utilizes a unique patented flip PC card hinge mechanism which folds away neatly and compactly into the unit, thus eliminating the need for cumbersome interface and power cables. The Flipdisk draws its power directly from the PC card interface and the USB port and can also be used via any PC parallel port using Amacom's Parallel Interface Cable (must be purchased separately).The USB Flipdisk incorporates an industry standard Toshiba 2.5" hard drive with capacities of up to 40 GB (using data compression). Data transfer rates and access times are as fast as internal hard drive speeds. The USB Flipdisk is built to withstand high operating shocks associated with portable equipment and incorporates specially designed shock absorbers with the added protection of a padded carry case supplied with the unit.
