The AHA-3944UW has two, independent Wide Ultra SCSI channels to double the transfer rate and allow connectivity of up to thirty SCSI devices to your Power Macintosh. Each independent channel is powered by a PhaseEngine RISC processor to provide exceptionally fast response times. Slower SCSI peripherals, such as scanners or tape drives, are configured on one channel while faster peripherals, like high-speed, high-capacity disk drives, use the other channel. This multichannel architecture eliminates I/O gridlock and allows high-speed peripherals to perform at their optimum speeds.The AHA-3944UW offers the advantage of supporting multiple SCSI channels through a single PCI slot. It is compatible with SCSI-1, SCSI-2, Ultra SCSI, Wide Ultra SCSI Differential and Wide Ultra SCSI peripherals and features advanced SCSI features such as ASPI compliance, multitasking support and support for 255 simultaneous active SCSI commands. The AHA-3944UW features a burst host bus data transfer rate up to 133MB/second and Bus Master DMA technology to enhance overall system performance. Installation and configuration is easy with the included SCSISelect software. You can also remotely monitor the status and performance of SCSI devices with Adaptec's included management software.
