Toshiba offers a single channel mega raid AMI controller kit for Magnia servers. The mega raid controller automatically and transparently rebuilds failed drives with user-definable rebuild rates. If a hot spare is available, the rebuild starts automatically when a drive fails. Mega raid automatically restarts the system and the rebuild if the system goes down during a rebuild. The mega raid self monitoring analysis and reporting technology (smart) detects up to 70% of all predictable drive failures.
